Obviously Mr. Sarles just isn't getting it. He clearly doesn't understand how things have changed since the internet. I'm a very busy person but I'll donate the time to educate him on the new reality.
1)Your first big mistake was to run for the Presidency of the Club. We are now run by The Chip Board. The more you type, the more important your views are. Too bad you missed the shift in control. To date your responses have been occasional, brief, polite and informative. You'll get nowhere with that kind of attitude.
2)Time is of the essense. It's always best to attack first. Gathering facts just slows down the response time. Always make your response personal and, if possible, hurtful. Then always use the public chat forum so you can cause the most bad feelings.
3)When responding to someone else's message, always examine the wording with a microscope. Many times there are multiple ways to interpret someone's words and it's important to select the most destructive inference.
4) The vast majority of Club members who don't participate in this chat board just don't count. We can always use the magazine to tell them what the Chip Board has decided.
5) By not volunteering to do much for the club I have lots of free time to criticize others. Other volunteers should realize what they're missing.
6) Wait till things are very complex and feelings all around are at the breaking point, then quit. It's best to do it out of the blue. Many of us (including me) will write tearful laments and vent our anger at the most convenient target.
David, I hope this is helpful.
