Rene,
No one said you had anything to do with the PR organization Barry is looking for at the national level.
I mentioned the profit motive because you SELL chips and other casino items. Do you sell them at a loss???<g> I think not. You sell these items to make money. Maybe not your main or primary income but still sell for profit even if it is a hobby for you.
People who volunteer their time and energy for an organization do so for their own reasons. Whatever YOUR reasons are, is none of anyones business including me. However, it is my personal opinion that when the profit motive comes in conflict with "our" club - the profit motive must take a back seat and become a by-product of serving the organization. If the profit motive isn't the by-product - decisions will be made for selfish reasons instead of for the benefit of the club. Club decisions should be made for the RIGHT reasons; not the wrong ones. Membership should be increased because it is healthy; not because it gives one a larger market to sell chips. I think you understand what I mean.
Please don't take the remarks personally. They were intended to share a concept not start a "battle". If I want to battle I can pick a different subject like chip grading.<lol> Best, Jim
