Re: Other stuffNo kidding. Huh?

But it DID get bids Bob, that's the entire point. Once it gets bids you CAN'T change it so, the ONLY thing I COULD do was ad to it whihc, I did and, I WAS fully honest with it. I don't any of the people on this board at all, I have NOT confirmed what I was told but I DID update it.
Do you mean to tell me, and this board that if someone writes to you saying" I know this and that" that you would take that person at face value? i doubt it. You see Bob, with the auctions we have many people out there whom play many games one trick used to is have a couple buddies place bids after you do on an auction. Say your bid was for about $10 on a $500 item, your next buddie then places a max bid of $450 and the the next guy places a bid for say $405. This makes the current bid amount to be just around the $405 mark (may vary depending upon the bid raise amount.
Now, just before an this auction closes, where nobody will be sitting there waiting to make bids since, the amount is already too high the two high bidder's retract their bids, leaving your little old $10 bid sitting there to win the auction.
This is one of the many ways some opt to screw folks over. Another method commonly used is to have someone write and claim that the item is worthless.
Now, I am NOT saying that this is what some here have done to me, NOT at all BUT it is possible. I would be a fool to kill my sales based upon the "word" of an unknown.
When I checked arounda little on this board I saw that a couple were saying the same thing. I then figured that one of a few things was going on.
1. that many are in a scam together which, I doubted
2. That perhaps they were correct and I got excited about a find which, was not that much of a find.
I then proceeded to post a note on the auction to advise of what I had heardbut, still have not fully confirmed.
I am not able to contact my bidder about this, since this is a private auction, due to many whom DO steal sales (how many out there have had other's write them about items they have bid on? If not many then I suggest perhaps trying to place a token bid on a Gold item, knowing you won't either make the reserve OR that you will be out bid BUT willing to accept the win- I assure you it won't be long before you get a bunch of e-mail offering you other items)
I also listed my auctions as private to halt abuses such as you listed that you condone, the writting to bidder's in efforts to get them to retract bids on something that YOU personally don't think is of value.
This does NOT mean the item holds no value to other's. I have noted in the past 20 years of my selling that when one person buys something, many other's also want the same things. However, on the flip side, if nobody seems to be wanting the item, a person whom might otherwise want it may not longer place a bid on the item since, they don't want to be the only one-the midset that perhaps other's know this is bad and I should trust them on it, they must know something I don't know.
In this great land we are all given the chance to decide for ourself what we want and, what we are willing to pay for it.
when I lived in South Florida, I was able to buy Rock Shrimp for $2-3 per pound. In Nevada, when I am lucky enough to find it I pay about $13 per pound. I then have the option of paying the $13 per pound for my Rock Shrimp OR do with out OR I could simply drive or fly out to Florida, spend a few hundred bucks on gas and tolls and buy it for $2-3 per pound.
I tend to think it is a lot better for me to pay the $13 per pound.
The items I sell may be avail. in the stores out here, just as the chips that many here sell are able to be purchased right from the casino's for face value but yet, I always seem to find that nobody has yet to offer these chips on e-bay for face value.
No, is my "sin" that I am charging a fair price for my items OR is it that you would prefer to control me so I can't sell what you deem to be "worthless"? Also, if we believe that you feel these are truly worthless, then why do most have them in their collections? Hmmmm Do we all collect worthless items?
Think of the match books many sell or the ash trays. The matches are normally given away totaly free yet, many collect them and pay big bucks for them, as for ash trays, most swipe them while at a Casino so, are they dealing then in stolen goods? Well, yes they are but, I do not ever hear you screaming about that.
All I ever see is you whining that in some way or another I am a con man and "must be stopped! we have no way to stop him now!! this is fraud!!", NO what this is is a shame. a shame that some can't be permitted to make up thier own minds, I think a certain German man (nothing against all germans) also felt he should impose upon others his beliefs, many followed him but, that did not make him right, it made him an...........well you know where that goes.
Bob, you are still free to by pass my auctions, you need not sit there each and every night scoping out every word I type to try and find some little loop hole which you can try and blow up.
I heard from some that these chips may not be anything special, I do have some chips here that are limited ones and they say 1 or whatever number and 2 of whatever, when I saw that I had two #1 of's. I naturally thought I found something good. Shoot me for it.
