Fabulous Eddie's Stardust Club or Eddie's Fabulous Stardust Club - (Your Choice !!)...$5 Arodie
It's listed both ways in the current edition of "The Gaming Table." Regardless of which was used most commonly, many things are certain. The Stardust was located at the intersection of Highway 50 and Kingsbury Grade in the area at Lake Tahoe known as Zephyr Cove.
According to Harvey Fuller's "Index of Nevada Gaming Establishments," the Stardust opened on October 1, 1957 and closed 366 days later, on October 2, 1958. Fuller lists 21 (Blackjack) and Craps as games which were played there.
There are 2 chips known from the Stardust. Both are Arodie molds. The $5 chip is Navy in color with 3 beige inserts. The $25 is Mustard in color with 3 green inserts.
At the recent annual convention in Las Vegas, I noticed one of these chips in a dealer's case. It was being offered at $150. These chips are being offered as a September special on the Chips Off the Old Block web site at $119 each! An added $3 is asked to cover postage and insurance.
At the time of this post 5 chips are avialable.
