Maybe it was just his way of saying, "Hey, future chippers of the world, here's a way you can tell my fakes from the real thing!"

Presumably, the occasional real chip will end of aligned, just by accident. But, it must be a fairly rare occurrence. Makes me feel better about my possible Borland fakes already -- I'll just take a look at them sometime soon and see if any are aligned. If not, voila! ----- jim o\-S
