I'm new to chip collecting and have a really dumb question.....what's the story with the roulettes? WHY don't these casinos want you to take them away from the tables? I just got home from Vegas and I'm the proud new owner of 40 (4 colors) of $1 roulette chips from a popular casino near the south end of town.
As soon as the roulette dealer discovered the loss...he immediately notified the pit boss, who shut all the tables down and immediately called security. Of course, by the time they discovered the loss, I was well on my way out of the parking lot....heard all this from a relative that was with me.
I must be missing something here....I didn't STEAL these...there isn't ANY signs of any kind that says that I cannot leave the area with chips that I have purchased from the casino...and I don't understand all the excitement...They couldn't have been more upset if I had reached over the table and grabbed THEIR chips!
If it's a prob with the change in denomanation (only thing I can think of)....then it would be simple to solve by simply stamping the value on each chip.....I must be missing something here........
