Brandi... This is a very enjoyable hobby. Sometimes all of us let some negative stuff cloud our overall vision. I have never met Jim Smith in person. I have had a few transactions with him over the past couple of years. I have always received my merchansise from him and would trust him today without a problem. In my experience with Jim, I to have noticed that he is not as responsive as many of our very active members in answering questions, ect. Yes, 5 weeks is a long time not to hear from someone, but I don't think that Jim is trying to stiff you, although he may be being a little irresponsible (unless there are circumstances that have not been brought to light), I would not let this ruin my day if I were you. Before you tell me to "Just wait till it has happened to you", I can tell you that it has. I would still say that chippers are "as a whole" by far the most honest group of people that I have ever done business with. I understand your frustration, but relax a little and enjoy the hobby. This thing will work itself out, Am I defending Jims actions in your situation? No, I think he should have been in better contact with you. Am I defending Jim as a honest chipper? Yes, I am.
It just is not worth all the negative feelings you have been expressing. Even if someone really did stiff me for $27, I would still feel this is a great hobby with a lot of great people in it, and would not let that ruin my impression of this hobby! Relax, have fun! Enjoy life!
