... it was Justice Kennard.

My daughter-in-law Joelle clerked for Justice Kennard while in law school. As a result, she and my oldest son, Doug, were fortunate enough to be sworn in as lawyers by the Justice in a private ceremony for just the two of them. The ceremony was held in Justice Kennard's chambers at the California Supreme Court offices in San Francisco, with family only in attendance.

It was quite an impressive event; made Sandy & I very proud. Justice Kennard, by the way, was very personable and friendly.
