Re: MILLENNIUM & CASINOS
In Response To: Re: MILLENNIUM & CASINOS ()

Real Binary, John. Actually 12/31/99 is not the last day of "the century" either, since the first century began with year 1.

The problem here seems to be a confusion over numbering things verses counting things. The first day of a month is day 1. By noon of that day, the month is only 1/2 day old. You cannot count the day until it has passed and day 2 has started. Then the month is 1 day old. 10 days have not passed until the end of the 10th day. And so on.

What we ARE in is the last year of the 1900's. It's a perfectly good reason to party. Watching the odometer roll from 100000 to 100001 is no big thrill. I've got 99876 miles on my car right now. I glance at the odometer every little bit. I want to be watching when it rolls from 99999 to 100000. Sure it's a cheap thrill. Still, I'll be disappointed if I forget and miss it.

Remember, 2000 is PARTY YEAR... the last year of the true millennium, the first year of the 2000's. Party on, Garth!
