Hi Steve,
Perhaps I didn't make it quite clear so I'll run through it again. The chip produces from $1200 to $1400 each out. I placed a reserve on the one below (my last one of that color combination) for $1200 with a $650 minimum bid hoping to get a few bids, but, instead, I receive a bid which displays at the minimum $650. The bid could have been $1000 -- I'll never know. There is no way in God's creation that I can sell this chip for less than I did to the previous bidder - I just can't operate in such a manner under the conditions I stated. The chip sold, of course, as I've mentioned in my response to Steve S. Now, in Robert Eisenstadt's post, above, he suggestd that he realized a seller has the right to protect his lot with either a reseve or a healthy minimum bid of from 70% to 80% of what he normally thought it was woth and that he would be happy with. I simply responed with (in the case of the chip in question) that I could not, nor would I even think of listing the chip at 70% ($840.00). I feel this is a bad business practice to sell a chip for $1200 and then list it again for $840.00. I just can't do it, and I won't do it. The chip sells and that's all there is to it. That's all I really care about, also -- protecting the chip and their owners.
