For the really tough dirt in the small spaces (like the cane in a hat & cane mold), a blowtorch works best. <gg>

BTW, I collect chips for me, not for future sale. Therefore, I clean ANY chip which I find unattractive because it's dirty. I don't much care what a potential buyer at my estate sale might think about it!!
