I agree that the one on the left is better looking... BUT if you were offering 2 Thunderbird Casino chips for sale side by side like that, I would purchase the "dirty" one. (Assuming I could afford to buy Thunderbird Casino chips <<gg>>)

But then again, if you had two common chips with no real potential for financial appreciation (such as the current glut of Panama chips) side by side, I'd pick the clean one to save me the time of cleaning it up.

Would you agree that the key word here is "YOUR" collection? Since there are so many thoughts and opinions (and chemicals) that people believe in... Wouldn't it be best to let the final collector of a chip decide if and how the chip will be cleaned?

For example, there is no way I would EVER use Armor-All Cleaner, a product developed and intented for automobiles, on even my most common chips. I would not knowingly purchase a chip that I knew had been cleaned with Armor-All. I have nothing to base this on but just my personal feelings. I use Armor-All Cleaner on my automobile tires and vinyl dashboard, not my chips. But obviously many people much more experienced in chipping than me do use it on chips and are quite happy with the results. As Sly and the Family Stone sang... "Different Strokes for Different Folks...".
