That information came from yours truly via Mrs. Brown who told me:

"I divorced my husband in '48 and kept his chips!!!"

What Mrs. Brown was referring to is that her husband was with the Arkansas State Troopers when they used to raid Barney's operation. Though Barney never did have a place of his own, he did run games just outside of Little Rock. Needless to say how Trooper Brown acquired the box of 100.

Mrs. Brown is doing quite well these days, and she still hits the slots on the weekends. If anyone should ever run across Mrs. Brown on any of the riverboats, be sure to ask her how her younger sister used to hide the cash box when the cops came by to visit.
