In an article in The Palm Beach Post, it's mentioned that seven new cruise ships will be launched before the end of this century, including the 3,114-passenger "Voyager of the Seas."

The article mentions that in the first year of the 21st-Century, 10 more cruise ships will debut; and in 2001, ten more cruise ships will be launched. In 2002, at least six are scheduled.

Carnival has their 2,760-passenger "Glory" on the drawing board which will be launched in 2003, and a projection of a 6,000-passenger ship is not too far away where the ship will not be able to dock into many ports but will house smaller vessels in the hulls to transport passengers to and from shore.
