Gene; Over the weekend I passed a Sunoco gas station on Albany Avenue in Atlantic City and they had a large promotional banner type sign displayed offering a "Free Millenium Coin" with each fill-up. Gene, if you can't spend it at a stated value as currency, it ain't a "coin". The Ike Dollars were commonly referred to as "Silver Dollars". We all know they were not, as they had no silver content in them.... at least the ones issued for use in the nation's commerce did not. I don't know how long the NCM saleswoman you mentioned has been in that position... but she can't convince me that her company's "non-gaming tokens", which are not redeemable for anything, are in fact tokens. At best, they are medals, or medallions, similar to the privately minted commemorative medals the club issues and sells at our annual convention each year. I'm sure the NCM medals do have a substantial collector value on ebay, as witnessed by your report of their sale. So do casino ashtrays. That still does not make them tokens in my book. Just an opinion from another non-expert; for whatever it's worth.
