No, Gene, the DeVille chips aren't fantasy chips. They were ordered for the casino opening (as were ashtrays and likely other equipment) and delivered, but before the owners were licensed. As it turns out (as with the Jockey Club) the license was denied and the casino never opened.

It was to have been in the building in which the Sport of Kings finally opened for a short period, diagonally across from the Las Vegas Hilton.

Chris is right that the DeVille chips are similar in nature to the Jockey Club chips (and, as Allan has pointed out, also similar to the original Kings Crown chips), but I think he's wrong in using the word "fantasy" with either. The chips were made for a gaming purpose, based on an order from a casino which had not yet opened. Nothing "fantasy" about them!
