Could be Robert, but
Jim says he purchased the "mold".
AS would own the SqinCir mold as they bought all the old Burt molds from John Kendall of Chipco after he bought Burt.
I wonder if the rights to use some of the old molds are still with distributors and therefore the rights had to be re-purchased.
Jim explained to me that all the old molds had to be converted from clay compression to clay/plastic injection molds before they could be used today. A few such as DieSwirl have been converted for distributors. He says the cost of converting molds is not cost effective. BTW, Chipco converted HHR before they sold to AS. Jim says, if he cuts a new mold instead of converting an old one, there will be a difference in the chip. I don't really understand it but this is what I was told. If I remember right the old Burt molds only make 8 chips at a time.
I had this conversation with Jim because I wanted to do a LE series on the old molds several years ago. The only hope he held out for me was the Die Cut Brass such as the Mapes chip Larry is showing.
We'll see.
