I've read and reread your post and find that we are in total agreement on point after point after point. I think that what it boils down to though is a slight misinterpretation of intentions. In your message you stated,

I suggest that when a discussion of club matters takes place here, it is not necessarily with the expectation of a comment from the club President. Since we are for the most part all club members, it is only natural for us to discuss matters pertaining to our membership, here, during the normal course of our daily conversations. If the club President or any of the other board members decide to take advantage of the large audience found here, and would like to make their views known during one of these discussions, then they are welcome to do so. If they don't, then that is ok also. Input from the club officers, although most times valuable, is not a prerequisite to having a discussion about club policies.
