Which brings us to some distributors [catalogs] calling this product Crest "OR" Seal -- of which all definitions of "crest" and "seal" are very appropiate.

A celluloid disk is inlaid in the center (we know better) of a chip and a monogram or intricate design is printed on the inlay.

The design is ptinted on the "reverse" side of the transparent inlay which prevents wear. This answers why we sometimes see Crest & Seal chips worn down to through the inlay and the graphics still being untouched. And this was sixty years ago. I see new Chips that are shot in one year, today!
