This idea came about because I knew Wayne was thinking about trying to put together a 2nd Mini fall convention.
The cruise idea was not original as Bob G has tried in the past to get chippers on a ship.

I thought with Club backing we just might get a cruise off the ground. The Club could make the commissions or kick them back to members that booked. Doesn't matter to me either way. A survey on when to do it will not work. Pick a date, get a block of cabins, and promote it. Just like the convention. If we block 100 or so cabins, I think we can get a cruise line to declare it an "Official Theme Cruise". This means the cruise line would promote it to 500,000 travel agents with faxes, flyers, etc. Classic Poker Cruises gets several faxes per night from cruise lines promoting different cruises.

Even if the travel agents did not book one cabin into the block ( which is not possible) the clubs existence would be known to millions of people.

Classic Poker Cruises has a hard time getting the cruise lines to declare an Official Poker Theme Cruise. The lines feel they do not have control over the gambling and they think it will detract from their casino play. We have proved they get huge casino play but they still do not have control over the way we run our operation. No such conflict exsists with chip collecting. It is the same as a Square Dance Themed Cruise.

Once when a ship was not selling, the line promoted the poker cruise to its agents. We had 30 cabins booked into the block by people that never heard of CPC. This was done 36 days before sailing. Imagine the results if they had declared a Poker Theme Cruise 9 months before sailing.

If the club turns the idea down, I would be open to trying the idea without them. I say, give them time to look at it. No proposal has even been submitted as of yet.
