I believe that I express the sentiments of the entire Board in saying that we are shocked and disappointed that Janice has tendered her resignation as Vice President. She has served the club in that position for the last eleven years and has been a driving force behind the success of this organization. She has worked tirelessly during her tenure for the club and has been a great help to many individual members including myself and I thank her for all she had done. Her voice will be missed on the Board. I have personally emailed Janice and asked her to reconsider her decision.

I would like to make all of you aware of where the Board is at this point. I received a snail mail letter from Janice last Saturday stating that she was resigning. The remainder of the Board received the same letter. Unfortunately, David Sarles has been away on vacation and had not seen the letter and therefore he has not been available to post to this BB or deal with the issue. He will not return until Sunday. I am leaving this Saturday for a week of vacation and I know that Barry, who lives in LA, will be on the East coast this weekend (attending the AC meeting on Sunday) and next week in NY. It will be difficult for the remaining Board - David, Barry, Jim Steffner and myself to talk about this situation until at least the last week of July. As soon as any decisions are made, we will inform the membership.

While I have served less than one month on the Board with Janice, and we have had only one vote (Convention 2000), I know that her opinions, her enthusiasm and her perspective will be missed by all. I can only hope that she will continue to play an active role in club activities.

I hope this clears up some of the questions. As soon as we can discuss this situation, the Board will communicate with the membership. Thanks for your patience.
