Janice-
First let me say I am truly sorry that you have offered your resignation as Vice-President. Over the last year I feel like you and Jerry and I have become good friends. I know you, as well as Archie, Michael, Chuck and Jim have made great personal sacrifices in the interest of this Club. I want to personally say thank you!
I am concerned as Convention Chairman regarding the comments you made about the Tropicana contract. I was asked to meet with you and the other Board members to discuss our Convention options. You and I have had subsequent e-mails and phone conversations regarding the Convention. At no time have you expressed to me any specific concern you have with the Tropicana contract. Please, if there are specific concerns you have let me know either privately or on this board what they are. I don't feel it is fair to me as Chairman, and certainly not to our members to make such a general statement. If we are going to have a successful Convention we need as much input as we can get. I feel you owe it to everyone to outline your concerns. You have my word that I will do everything I can to address anything that is not in the best interest of the Club and it's members.
Let me take my Chairman's "hat" off and speak just as another member. You allude to other issues that you feel are not in the best interest of the Club. I am asking, as a member, what are these issues? What action has the Board taken that you feel is not proper? If there are issues that
the Board is not addressing please make the members aware of them. You have chosen this forum to make some some very general statements, please be specific. I know I would appreciate it and I'm sure most of our other members would also.
Please remember I am asking as a friend and a member and hope you take it as such. Please don't let this come between our friendship.
Even though you have chosen not continue as an officer I know you will continue to give to this hobby. Best wishes!
Wayne
