Q: I posted an item for auction yesterday. Today, I checked to see how well my item was doing, it had already gotten 9 bids (which makes me happy!). I then did a search for items similar to mine to see how I compared in prices, and I noticed that another seller had posted the same item and 'copy & paste'-ed most of my item's description and used it as his own. Is this legal under eBay's rules? I feel somewhat cheated.
A: I'm sorry to hear this has happened to you. We do not permit seller's to "borrow" images/descriptions from another seller. Kindly provide us with your auction number as well as the competing seller who has decided to "borrow" your description. Your reply will be forwarded to the proper department for appropriate auction. Good Luck with your auction - sounds like it is on fire:)
