Hi Bob; If anyone has a question for me on A.C. chips and tokens.... or any topic.... please save them until I return each weekend from Atlantic City. <vbg>
Don Anthony has correctly answered your question as to the value placed on this set in my superb 1999 A.C. catalog, page 77. :>} However, be prepared for a significant increase in the valuation on these sets in the 2000 Edition as Bally's Park Place no longer offers them as a prize anymore. These sets were formerly awarded with hand-paid jackpots on certain designated .25¢, .50¢ and $1 machines that were located in Park Place. The four-piece medallion sets were prominently displayed in a large window at the top of the slot machine..... similar to the popular silver strikes machines. However, they were not redeemable for any cash value, and were presented in a plush velvet type hinged case to top Jackpot winners on those machines only. I believe there were only four such machines on the entire property that I could account for. I obtained my set by offering $50 to the only winner I ever witnessed being presented with a set. Of course her question to the slot attendant after receiving her cash payout prize was; "how much can I cash these in for"? When the attendant told the player that they had no cash value..... she immediately accepted my $50 offer. Not too many tokens collectors that I am aware of own this set.
