Michael,
First of all the "K" value does not really mean much. Collectors who go my these value letters in the Chip Rack will end up with many bargains as well as many over priced chips.<g> Your concern should be "how many" are there besides the 50 we are talking about? In addition, I would try to find out WHO has them. Generally, the honest individuals in our hobby will tell you.
50 pieces, like John B. said, really are not that many. I personally like Paul-son metal centers. I believe there will come a time when "new" collectors will not know what such a chip looks like other than pictures. The piece we are talking about, in my opinion, based upon the present knowledge I have is worth on the open market around $40.00. That is a retail price and of course open to bargain.<G> The 50 pieces will not affect this price because they should be bought by one individual. I hope they are marketed correctly. If not the price will fall to around $20.00. Why? The individual who buys them may panic after only selling two and drop the opening price because he/she needs the money.<LOL> I have seen it happen countless times.
I hope this information helps. Chip finds can be very exciting or disastrous depending upon WHO finds them; HOW they are marketed; WHERE they are sold; and IF they have a story written about them. Telling everyone how many were found is really the most important, in my opinion, fact to be revealed. Best, Jim
