Allan Myers was researching a USPC chip for me, and found the following in the USPC records.
There were 4 photos with blank chip w/ molds & the following labels:
HUB--To Mason Co., 1928 (8 colors)
LCROWN--To T.R. King, Kansas City, MO 1929 (9 colors) 9000 chips
3 DOTS (Treybal Co.) 1929 (9 colors)
DIAMOND--To Jack Todd Co., Kansas City, MO 1933 (8 colors) 24,900 chips
"Professional Ringed Diamond"
So, we know that USPC made the first blanks in these 4 molds, before the Burt
Co. made them or before Mason, King or Todd made their own chips (or did they
ever make their own chips???) Allan
This is the 1st time I ever knew USPC made these old molds. I always thought they were made at Burt from the beginning. I know Burt bought out USPC chip molds. I also thought this buy out was the crest&Seal molds. Since they were orders for blank chips, the 4 distributors would have hot stamped them.
Does anyone have any more information on this?
Mason, Todd, and Treyball did not make chips. TR King did and still could.
