Hi Larry,
Please do send me an Excel viewer. I've been totally frustrated trying to view a file written in this format, when sent to me as an email attachment. I have a Lotus program that will read an .xls extention, but Outlook Express changes the extention when I save a file attachment to disk. I have the Lotus program installed on one of the desktops at work, but only send and receive email from my laptop so I can only attempt to copy the attachment and read it from the desktop at work. Read this as, while I own 5 computers that I use regularly, I don't clutter up a hard drive with software that I'll hardly ever use.
My shareware comments were made out of another point of frustration, as my favorite ISP has chosen to become too much like a standard ISP. Prodigy had an in-house FTP program for loading webpages. Now, it's a recommended program with a teaser program for you to learn how to use, then buy.
When I bought my 1st desktop, I pirated a screen saver from my brother-in-law. I also pirated a flight simulator. The instructions for that program were as thick as a bible. I started to copy the manual at a local Kinko's, and had an attack of conscience. I deleted that software.
Since then, I'll pay for it. I might want to see how it functions before buying. The gray area here, as I see it, is, if I ask someone to send me a program to revue before buying, is that wrong? You wouldn't know if I'll buy what I like, or just copy it. I'll buy it. So, no, I wouldn't copy Wilson software. If I liked it, I'd pay for it.
Bob
