... which I mis-read in your previous post. I couldn't agree more about the frivolous consumer safety lawsuits which are being brought. I think judges should have the power to simply dismiss them out hand and it is a shame that manufacturers have to post more and more detailed "warnings" (which, in the long run, simply increase their exposure to litigation; the more detailed the disclaimer, the easier it is to sue when some specific item is omitted).
Frankly, I would even go so far as to put the lawsuits against the tobacco companies into this category. People should be responsible for their own actions. If you smoke cigarettes, you run the risk of suffering the consequences. When you do, don't go crying to the courts saying "oh, poor me". No one in today's society can honestly say they were unaware of the health risks of smoking.
As for the coffee spilled in one's lap and other such nonsense, I shouldn't even get started!! ----- jim o\-S
