Oh the twisted logic we use to justify our existence. Do you drive a car? Then you polute the atmosphere, which kills people and the planet, and put other people's lives at risk even if you obey every law in the book. Is your house made out of lumber? Do you know what the loss of the world's forrests is doing to our ecology? There's a serious overpopulation problem. We should all just go kill ourselves.
What's so hard about admitting that copying software is against the law? If you're going to do it, do. But don't be so damn proud of it.
If you have a genuine concern for the hardships of problem gamblers, you have every right to stand up, speak out, and work to change the laws. I would never condemn you for standing up for your convictions. But I sense you create this argument only as a personal attack, not because of some moral conviction. I personally find cigarette smoking offensive. If a person smokes, I may question his good sense, but I do not accuse him of criminal activity. I quit a job as a pinball mechanic 15 years ago because my boss was operating illegal video poker machines. I found that to be an unacceptable moral dilema. But why should I have to justify my existence to you?
I know you understand the concepts of piracy. Early this year, someone was using your scans without permission. You argued, "the use of other persons scans without their permission is not the right thing to do. Those of us that have spent $650 for a digital camera, a couple hundred dollars for a scanner, not to mention investing many hours trying to learn how to use the damn stuff, are somewhat protective of what we have produced. I think we have the right to feel that way." I agree. Why are you now working so hard to justify bootlegging?
