Hi Larry -----
>> We got lawyers to tell us what's wrong, and lawyers to find loopholes. I guess that's why we're not responsible for just knowing right from wrong any more. <<
Don't forget, we also have lawyers to tell us what's RIGHT and to CLOSE the loopholes. And lawyers wrote the copyright laws which protect your software. And other lawyers (like my son and his wife) fight every day to enforce those protections. Like everything else in life, though, make sure that if you need a lawyer, you get a GOOD one.
>> And people wonder what's wrong with the kids today. <<
I don't. After working closely with high school age children for 13 years (up until two years ago when my youngest graduated), I reached the conclusion that overall they are no better and no worse than the generations of kids who went before them. Different in some particulars, but essentially the same as kids everywhere, any time. And what IS wrong with them is largely a result of failings on the part of their parents, not their lawyers! <g>
I hope I didn't leave the impression that I'm unsympathetic to the problem of software piracy. I'm not. I just try to see everything through a balanced perspective ---- the world, for better or worse, has shades of gray and hues of many colors. ----- jim o\-S
