I've been reading with much interest the comments/debate regarding next year's convention. It's very simple, those who can make it will attend.... those who can't make it won't. The year 2000 convention will be no different than any other CC>CC convention. No matter which dates are selected, there will always be some who will be inconvenienced and others who will be overjoyed. While I'm at it, let me poke one more stick into the fire. All the facts are not acurately known by most of the posters who have left messages on this board. "Sunday to Thursday" for example does not necessarily mean the convention will begin on "Sunday and run thru Thursday". Orleans Hotel made a proposal to the club that if the club would consider changing the days of our annual convention from a weekend to week days (Sundays to Thursdays) they would be able to be more flexible with dates. The convention could conceivably begin on Tuesday and run through Thursday. I'm not saying it will..... I'm simply saying that was an option. So folks, why not let the board work through this and let them make a decision based on ALL THE FACTS AND OPTIONS they have at their disposal ..... before second guessing them.... and heating up these boards with half-truths and incorrect assumptions?
