Thanks, John. I don't know if I would go so far as to say, "Reno had the best chips in the world!" But if chip collecting really is about history, Reno has some GREAT history. And some GREAT chips! Owning an old house in St. Johns gave me an excuse to research it's history, study turn of the century architecture (as it related to my restoration projects), get involved with the Historic Preservation League of Oregon, etc., etc. Collecting old Reno chips gives me the same excuse to explore the local history here. I always find a subject more interesting if I have some "personal connection," and my chips (and chip friends) give that to me.
Someone famous one said (and I'm paraphrasing) "You won't know where you're going if you don't know where you've been."
