I have plans of attending the convention no matter where or when it is. I do have preferences, however, and the first one is comfort at a reasonable cost. I prefer a time other than the summer months and a location with reasonable room rates ($39.00 or so including weekends.) I will not pay $100.00 or more for a hotel room in Las Vegas and if by any chance the convention were held at a location where the rooms are that much, I will just get a room at another location even thought it would not be as convenient.
Many of use have a selfish attitude for his own reason for his preference of location. Since I became interested in chip collecting, I no longer gamble in Las Vegas. I can do that any day or night of the week at my local card club. I come to Las Vegas for one reason and one reason only, and that is to either go on a chip run or attend the convention.
I have the utmost respect and confidence for Wayne Thompson and the board to pick out a site that is suitable to the majority, but please take in consideration the people attending the show as well as the dealers. For remember, without us, the dealers will be quite lonely sitting at their table talking to each other.
As you might tell, I am still irate with the attitude of some of the dealers, both those that have expressed an opinion and those that didn't but are sitting on the sidelines and letting some take the heat for all.
Remember, we are the ones who are purchasing chips from you. Your attitude and demeaner makes a big difference in our choice of vendors we wish to patronize.
