Since you both use the same address I don't know who is running this "survey". I do think there are a few points left out that should be considered. I personally don't think this is the proper forum to address this issue but I feel the facts need to be known. I will cover four basic issues and not get into all the lesser issues:

#1 The Orleans gave us the Sun - Thur option because they are booked 100% every weekend. If we went to a Sun - Thur show the hotel will only block out 10, yes 10 rooms for members who want to arrive before Sunday or stay past Thursday. This means our members will have to arrive and depart these days. This means either higher airfare (no Saturday night stay) or staying elsewhere and moving to or from the Orleans for any extra days.

#2 The showroom at the Orleans is 16,200 sg ft. The showroom at the Trop is 26,000+ sq ft. If we go to the Trop there will be table space for anyone new who wants a table and would allow the existing dealers to have additional tables if they desire. Even by going to the Sun - Thur option the Orleans is charging $2000, the Trop is FREE.

#3 You failed to mention the June 18th date is Fathers day. I'm sure this is important to many of our members.

#4 With the rousing success of the poker tournament I intend to see that this tradition is continued. I feel confident we can arrange a poker tournament either at the Trop or some other suitable site. (Gene- how big is your family room?)

I don't intend to get into a debate on this board regarding the pros and cons of either location. I post this information just so the members who replied to your "survey" have some additional facts. If any member has a specific question regarding the Convention please direct it to me by e-mail and I will be glad to respond with the best knowledge at hand. Please understand I have no vested interest in either location. In fact my job is easier if we stay at the Orleans but the basis of the Convention decision is what is best for the Club and its members.
