I've got to believe there are MANY more variables and that there is information selectively excluded than just were and when.
1. How much are rooms for these periods mentioned.
2. WHY are we getting such lousy choices of dates. I think it's because in the town of grandiour, CC>CC is a relatively small convention.
3. What is our commitment to the Orleans? Room occupancy, drop, poker tourney, etc. And why are we negotiating convention packages yearly?
4. What is the TOTAL cost to the club. If we had to pay double or triple for the same convention rooms we had this year, would members be so willing to return to the Orleans?
5. Though it makes little difference to me, walk in attendance will suffer if the convention is held mid-week. Again I ask if we are so welcome at the Orleans, why are we getting such low priority?
I ask these questions because I don't think all the information has come out yet. And stirring up controversy will ultimately make the decision more difficult for the board. Let's get the total picture before we jump to an uninformed decision. We elected the new board to represent the club and it's membership and to make the decisions which are best for the MEMBERS. No matter what the decision, not EVERYONE will be pleased. Is this survey for the board? Will the decision be made by the general membership?
