Re: Dunes Chips, Another Price Guide
In Response To: Re: Dunes Chips ()

Hi Michele:
I am Allan Myers, a co-author along with Michael Knapp & Ernie Wheelden,
of "The Chip Rack". Our Nevada chip guide 1st Ed. was in 1993. We are
presently on the 6th Ed., June 1999. Our guide is primarily for chip collectors
to get an idea of fair market value on Nevada chips. We use sales results from
auction, dealer sales, price lists and everything that we see in chip trading.

The blue-gray color has been the one most seen in this chip. It has sold in
the club auction, August 1998 for 175. & the club auction, June 1999 for 210.
It was in Howard Herz Auction #27 in July 1998 with an estimate of 150.-200.
It did not sell (did not reach minimum bid).

The Chip Rack-6, lists the blue-gray at 150. and the other colors at 300. We
have only seen a few of these sold in colors other than blue-gray. If a few
turn up in colors that have not been seen, they may well sell in the 500-600
range, as there are perhaps 15-20 collectors who would pay this amount. If a
box or two show up in pink, red or some other color, we would place them in
the 150. range.

I hope that this has been of some assistance and will be happy to answer any
additional questions you may have.
