Hope everyone enjoyed the convention. As much as I missed going, I must say the trip to Turkey and Greece was fantastic. Now the important news.
I was able to stop at the Playboy Club in Rhodes, Greece. For those of you that have not been to casinos in Europe, it is an interesting experience, First there is an admission charge. In this case $20 per person. Before they let you enter, they check you passport and take a photo. This info is checked against Interpol records. All this is done in about 5 minutes. They then give you an admission card, similar to a slot card (stop druelling; I do have one extra, but more about that later).
The casino itself is one of the nicest I have seen. It is on 2 floors; the first having only slots and the second table games. Unfortunately, I did not have time to play, but was somewhat successful in getting some chips, although not all that I wanted.
I went to a pit boss and told her what I would like. After some explaining as to why I wanted so many chips, and could not even play, she checked with her supervisor. After again explaining why I wanted the chips, they still seemed somwhat unsure (crazy Americans!). The supervisor had to check with the casino manager who also required an explanation. They then conferred and agreed to sell me a limited number of chips.
I had to go to a blackjack table to get the chips. The pit boss explained to the dealer what I wanted and he proceeded to count the chips while the players looked at me as if I were crazy. I finally left with some chips and some slot tokens.
Now on to Turkey; short story. Unfortunately, all of the casinos in Turkey closed about a year ago by order of the Turkish government. I do have some chips from Turkey if anyone is interested e-mail me.
I also have some chips from the Windstar, the ship that I was on ($1; $2.50 and $5).
For those of you that want any of the above chips, please e-mail me and I will send you a scan of the chips and some other Playboy items I have. I will send the scan tonight when I get home. This will be on a first come first serve basis since the chips are limited.
For those of you that collect slot cards, I only have one. I will auction this at a 3 day auction. Details will be sent to you via e-mail.
Sorry for the long post, but I thought you might find it interesting.
Mike
