John, I & my fellow Florida chipper, make many trips on day cruise boats around the state of Florida. We pay for gas, car repairs, wear & tear, fees to park & to sail, tolls, food, etc. I have rarely, if ever sold a chips & added in my "costs". As a prime example, I will be heading to Curacao with my wife for a week of R & R. I have the airfare, hotel, car rental, food, tips, taxes, casinos losses/winnings & then the hassle of getting through Miami Customs loaded with tubes & tubes of chips which show up as small sticks of explosives on their scanners. I have to open each bag & then explain why I have what I have to countless agents before I get cleared & my passport is returned. It has always been a pain especially when you return from the Caribbean in cutoff jeans, sandals, a Hard Rock t-shirt & a beard. Once I get back I trade all of the chips for face value. I NEVER add any additional "costs" but I do make up some of my expenses with my usual shipping & handling charges.<g>
