ANOTHER IDEA: as my subject heading says, chip posters should use the form to insert "delete" "passwords" when they make "test posts" on the Bulletin Board. Then when the test is over --you guessed it-- they can delete their post. They can also use the delete password to delete posts that have errors in them, or posts that seem mistaken after thinking things over (you can always delete the old post and then put in a new post ), or posts that are no longer relevant (eg., about a TV program now in the past). Such deletions unclutter the BB and can save one from possible embarrassment.
Note: the "password" box is the 4th box under the large "message" box. Look for it when posting. It costs you nothing to always put in a short password for possible future use. I always use the same short simple word. For those unfamiliar with it, (1) you put in the password (it shows up as black dots) in the same form you use when submitting the original post; the (2) when you want to delete the post, you just click your heading in the message index; wait till the full messsage appears; and then scroll down to the last box where you type in the password and click the button "delete this message."
Also note: I am told that if others have replied to your post, deleting your post will scatter the reply posts. So be careful in those cases.
