Larry,
(1) If I responded to your previous post via private
e-mail, only you (and whomever you wish to forward
it on to - if you choose to) will be able to read my
expressions pertaining to that subject matter.
(2) If I posted it here (or on the CC>CC Message
Board), perhaps 100 to 200 readers will read
it.
(3) If I decided to address that same subject matter
to EVERYONE in the club, I would most certainly
write to "Letters To The Editor" and chat my brains
out.
Granted, along with 99.99% of us loving our hobby
where we could talk about it 24-hours a day - many
of us are also exhibitionists in a sense that we
want to be heard by whomever is out there while
whatever subject matter thoughts are fresh in our
minds, along with, of course, showing a bridge, a
race car or a chip or two. <G> I call it expression, and it's fine and dandy!
BUT, what percentage of membership will really know
what I'm trying to get across [message, request,
suggestion] if this is not presented to everyone in
"one big room?" And, the only "one big room" I know
about where all of the membership will have the
opportunity to read what I (we) have to say is
"Casino Chip And Token News."
I know there are some people against this method of
communication (along with one or two people talking
out of both sides of their mouth regardind the
magazine), especially when it's a dealer writing, but I feel it's the only way a person is
going to get that message "officially" across and
documented for "all the membership" to read and
refer to if they so wish at a leter date.
Yes, I do remember when Archie would post
time-and-time-again not to conduct any club business
here [Greg's board] but to only do so on the club
board if they want the newly elected officers to
respond. But, it was posted in an
"unofficial" manner on an "unofficial" board -- and
it means beans, evidently! If he had expressed what
he said in the club magazine......!
Please excuse my errors, as I did not proof-read.
