I hear you, Larry. I think the real problem is one of scale.
Please understand, I'm not condoning piracy of any kind. But when one sells 4 million copies of a commercial software package, a little piracy doesn't hurt too much.
The chip collecting hobby is not quite at that level yet. The profit margin on chip collecting books is minimal anyway, and the piracy of only a few copies can make the difference between a slightly profitable venture (assuming working for $0.00025 an hour is "profitable") and a losing proposition.
Bottom line is, without absolute copy protection, there will be no electronic versions of KMW's books.
