Hi Don ----- I spent an hour or so talking with Charlie Endy at Paul-son's retail store on Saturday afternoon. In fact, I was there at closing and Charlie very graciously volunteered to drive me back to the Orleans so I wouldn't have to take a taxi! He regaled me with stories about his brother Paul, who died in April. In fact, I'm going to see if he won't agree to my sharing some of them, perhaps via my ChipBox column on Chequers.
Apropos your post: the hot stamp cancellations got Paul-son in big trouble with the Illinois gaming commission. Someone rubbed the cancellation of some high value Argosy chips and slipped them past the cage personnel. Argosy management was none-too-happy and the Illinois gaming commission levied what Charlie called "a large fine", though he wouldn't say how much.
He also told me that there plan was to drill, rather than notch, these chips if they sell them in the future. ----- jim o\-S
