Gee Wilikers, Don! On the Arizona Charlies card, the brown/red variations are just differences in the printing. They may be two different press runs (with a later run to restock) and only mean the press ink was set up slightly different. Those slight variations are gonna be hard to keep track of. I just got back from LV and was spending a bunch of time walking through casinos to get cards off the tops of the machines to trade. Picked up one each of the old Arizana Charlies and Nevada Palace cards that people were kind enough to forget for me.
On a real variation, In the Players Gold cards at the three places downtown, the cards have a basic similarity from Cal to Fremont to Main St Stn, but I always wondered why the darked printed name of the hotel is on the Fremont and Cal cards, but it wasn't on the MSS card I got not long after it opened. In my card gathering, I found a MSS card with the name in dark print above the "Players Gold." I thought was the new version, but when I went to the card cented to get a new card in my name it was the version without the hotel name. The hotel phone numbers are different, so there are at least three versions on that card. Sorry, no scan capability here.
