Hi Archie & all
Yes what a good idea a top 10 obsolete NEVADA chip list. This should be done by local clubs. It would be so interesting to see the selections made by members in other states.
Especially if the Colo. guys will admit our Nevada chips are better. Better being more historically important & highly collected. Seems those Colo. table werent to busy at the show. Jerry Walls Nevada chips sure were. Actually he has some of the best Colo. too. Deadwood is getting hotter too. A list for each area of collecting would be best just because Nevada is hottest & my personal favorite we need to list all other areas of collecting. Nevada needs to be broken down into sections as we did in the book. Vegas, Tahoe, Reno & Small towns.
I really would like some input on this. Not just jokes on Four Queens. (Even if the Year of the Tiger is one of my favorites too!)
I will wait till the club contest is put together for all to see my selections. I actually have most of the top 10 memorized in my head. I am still looking for a few! Of course Bugsy is up there, thats why I bought up all Jerry's. Boy this $100 is a nice piece, but the $25 I have to match with only one known undrilled is choice too.
I seriously would like to help put this contest together. Of course we cant give away an example of one of the top 10 chips as most only a few are known. We could however do this with commems too & we could give those away as most there are 1,000 made. Premium tokens too. That field is hot! Vote for commem #1
Four Queens Year Of The Tiger-- of course! We can't offend anyone on this board now can we? I try not to but maybe not hard enough. Was nice to talk with you at the show & all the best. By the way the pictures in our book show all the
top 10 chips! You know these pics were taken from nearly all major collections.
Seems the hobby is getting more excited about chips when seeing the color
pictures. I know no one will ever agree totally with prices, especially
our Polish collectors.
