Re: New Find: "THE ORE HOUSE" (RENO, NV.

To All,
Most of you who know me know I don't sell chips. I also, normally don't help others to sell chips. However, since I obtained a set of these chips from Terry, I told him I would share my comments with everyone and anyone who was interested.<g>

I saw these "The Ore House" chips at Terry's table at the convention. The interesting point, excluding the story Terry has written, is the type of gold foil used in the hot stamp. If I am not mistaken the gold foil used is unlike any gold foil normally used within the last 30 years. The hot stamp has a "rough" pimple texture to it. The scan does not do justice to what I am talking about. The color of the gold reflects an older type alloy not used in todays manufacturing.

I don't know if these chips are "real" gaming chips. I don't know for sure if they were not made within the last year.<g>. After all I am not an "expert" in the field of chip manufacturing nor do I hold myself out to be an expert about anything. I like the chips, I think they are "real" and that's why I purchased them.

Did I get a discount for writing this? NO, I did not. Did I get the chips for nothing from Terry? NO, I did not. I just believe they are extremely interesting and hope more information will be forthcoming in the future.

If you as a collector enjoy history and "love" the chance for hitting it big on a chip. Here's a good prospect. I intend to do more research on these pieces. If I discover anything of importance I will share it with all on this board. Best, Jim
