Jim, I also agree with Andy, although I think I understand the position of the dealers that left. I assume they were not doing well and decided to chuck the whole thing and go home. I doubt they would leave early if they were selling a lot of chips.
As an attendee not having to man a booth all day, I would have preferred the show to last more days no less more hours. I was as excited as a kid in a candy store and was sort of let down during the last few hours of the show as I still would have liked to put some more deals together.
It is not only the dealers loss by not staying open, it is our loss (the collectors, that is) as some of us left the show with a few dollars left over.
By the way, I think it is usually the practice of many shows that free attendence is allowed after a certain hour specifically because exhibitors do tend to pack in in early.
