Re: Chipping price guides

Hi Jim,
I decided to read the board to see any comments about out wonderful show. I had a great show & gave out quite a few autographs on our new book. Can you tell me why you can come up & be friendly in person & then get on here & have negative comments about the book which you could bring up to us in person. What is the problem so called California chips you speak of? Please send proof as you claim to have so we can correct it. Nothing is perfect as you say & we dont claim to be. I am sure I am more well known in this hobby than you & my opinions on chips are regarded as expert. If you feel you know more than I than I guess you can prove this by writing a book which you feel is accurate. I know how accurate I am! I have lots of info. Why can't you or anyone get on here & have more positive than negative comments? I appreciate comments that are positive from you & Don L. & others. We dont need negativity in this hobby.

You find 3 mistakes out of 1,000's thats very darn accurate!!!! Glass Crutches again, oh boy. Please tell me what you know & can prove. I have had about 40 of these chips total. I heard of 1 box being sold locally at that same time. This includes two different $1's & 2 $5's. I tried to buy all but the people lied & sold to another person, or two. If you have boxes than how much are they worth? Can you give an evaluation here? I sold some recently for less than book price on the C&J $1 & Sm. Key $5. I got a real good deal & passed it onto collectors & friends. I didn't try to sell you one as I don't recall us ever doing any business on chips. Maybe once on postcards. I wont make comments on items in TCR which are out of line as quntities have come on the public market since the last book yet prices did'nt go down. I have to comment on one price that is very unreasonable which they show has come down although only 2 chips came out! This chip is the Horseshoe $500 arrow die as pictured on my cover. Less than 10 are known in collections! TCR value $200 to 249. This is a $3,000 chip. I know you don't collect these high end chips & very few do but I know this chips value at least right now. The 25 cent with building has also remained real rare. I have listed another Horseshoe arrow die they didn't know of too, An orange $25! I guarantee I have many very rare chips listed & I heard collectors talking they are really enjoying the book.

Collectors & Investors. What do you call yourself & how do you classify me? By the way what do you think of Rene N? As per collector or not? How about your buddy Doug? Do we need seperate clubs? Do you want the office as mediator? What is your definitions of these two, supposed seperate categories? Are investors dealers or collectors?

I was told by one person that I have claimed a Golden Horseshoe is NV, but now info. is available to ID it as Cal. I have not seen this info. I was told by a very well know major collector that this chip is NV. therefore we listed it.

I hope to see more on here about our great show & all the rare chips that showed up. Prices definitely changed. They went up up up!! More deals than any show so far. By the time everyone visited Jerry's collection though, there wasn't much left for most to spend. The auction was fun but a bit slow on hitting high prices. There just was not many real rare pieces & this has gone down every year. There are so many really rare chips & once in collections they rarely show up for sale again.
