Talk about trolling for an argument? <G> I prefer to think of it as, you've got 20 and the only thing that beats it is 21. Nuff said? No one should shoot you for the way you play your hand. The cards are random, and the dealers hand is not effected by your play. (contrary to what some folks like to argue)

If you just sit and watch, someone who doesn't follow the best methods of play, will take the dealers bust card, just as often as they will take the dealers good card, and cause a bust. Playing fools only change their own luck.

And now for the licker. According to one math model, if you are playing with a six deck (or more) shoe and the dealer shows a six, the odds are better if you split your 20 into two tens. I still don't do it.

Here's the simple guide which doesn't take memorizing a chart or tons of thinking.

1) Never split a 20
2) Always split aces and eights
3) If the dealer shows 7 or higher, you hit until you get 17 or higher.
4) If the dealer shows 2-6 and a ten will bust you, stay, otherwise take a hit on the chance your hand improves.
5) If you have 10 or 11, double down.
6) Always hit soft 18
7) Never take insurance

Many people are superstitious and watch others play, it doesn't change anything. Also the dealers two is often not as bad as 3-6, but then 30% of the cards in the deck are counted as ten. So the dealer should bust on a duce 30% of the time. For the dealer six, they should bust roughly 61% of the time.
