Andy, I guess I forgot to add the grins to my post. You must realize the whole post was in jest except the patience part.
And yes, I agree with you about the difference between a tournament play and a regular game. This is why I only (or I should say, rarely) play tournaments.
I have always considered myself a card player as opposed to a gambler. It is not at all unusual for me to go through 2 or 3 or more dealers without ever seeing a flop. It is true that I rarely walk away with multiples of racks (in a 3-6 ,4-8 or 6-12 Omaha game, but in the same instance it is just as rare for me to lose more than a rack. This enable me to play 4 or 5 times a weeks and come out on the plus side.
You must also keep in mind, that playing poker is strictly recreational for me. Way over 30 years ago, my wife said to me that she married me for better or worse, richer or poorer, and all that good stuff, BUT NOT FOR LUNCH.
This way I get out of her hair, receive some great food free of any cost, get to oogle at the waitress's and girly dealer's and maybe make a few bucks to kick.
Then when I get home, look in the mailbox and see one or more of those little brown packages from my fellow chippers, get to love my two little Yorkies and my wife and then get on the Bulletin Board.
As Jimmy Stewart would say, it's a great life.
