Calling a bet and raising in two different motions is called a "string bet" and are not allowed. Also it is best, just to be safe to announce your intentions. If you plan to raise, before you put any chips out say "RAISE". Most card rooms will not let a "string bet" stand. They may not bite your head off on the first one though.

Also the best software learning game is from Wilson Software. The game is $89, but you can down load a evaluation copy free. I believe it plays the same 30 hands over and over, but I think you would get a feel for the game. Click below to go to their website.
